Core Keeper

Core Keeper Food Guide: Cook and Choose Useful Meals

The quick answer

Place valid ingredients in both Cooking Pot input slots and collect the cooked result. Use available combinations for the task: Heart Berry and mushroom for exploration supplies, Bomb Pepper for movement, or Blue Cave Guppy with Heart Berry for temporary health and dodge.

PC-focused guidance. Exact values may differ by version, difficulty and world type.

Use the Cooking Pot

Place the pot and interact with it. Put at least one valid ingredient into each of the two input slots. Ingredient order does not change the result.

One pair produces a dish in approximately ten seconds; take it from the output slot. Raw-ingredient effects are not identical to cooked-food effects, so do not infer the meal only from the raw item panel.

Choose a meal for the trip

Available ingredients Useful direction
Heart Berry + mushroom Basic exploration supplies
A combination including Bomb Pepper Movement support
Blue Cave Guppy + Heart Berry Temporary maximum health and dodge, once you can obtain the fish

These are understandable uses, not a universal best-food list for every stage.

Read buffs and quality carefully

When both ingredients grant the same type of buff, the dish generally takes the stronger value rather than adding both values. Permanent maximum-health bonuses are a separate exception.

Use the same ingredient combination to make matching meals for convenient stacking. Quality and cooking skills can change the final values; the reference’s basic panel is not a guaranteed result for every character.

If cooking does not start

Check that both inputs contain valid ingredients. If the output is unexpected, check the pair and its quality. A dependable crop supply is more sustainable than relying only on mushrooms you happen to find.

The basic rules here follow the reviewed Cooking reference. Exact PC 1.3 recipe and effect values have not all been independently rechecked.
